Teeth Whitening Options

Coffee, tea, smoking and wine – these are just a few of life’s little pleasures that can, over time, stain your teeth and leave you feeling less attractive. Luckily there are now in-office and home-based teeth whitening treatments available to undo the staining.

Tooth whitening uses a bleaching process to remove stains and discoloration of the teeth and give them a whiter appearance. We offer various methods of teeth whitening here at Clear that can provide lasting effects for several months. Teeth whitening is a great way to stay looking younger! Whitening is one of the most effective and transformative cosmetic dentistry treatments, alongside veneers and dental implants, and will leave you looking and feeling fantastic.

On The Go Whitening

Clear Dental & Orthodontics is pleased to announce we are now retailing the latest in fuss-free teeth whitening – Tres Whitetrays. Now you can simply pick up your prescription-strength tooth whitening strips from us instead of using weaker, over-the-counter strength systems.

Professional tooth whitening system that delivers great results in just a few minutes, what also makes them so appealing is they’re simple to apply and you’ll see a noticeable change in just one application.

This product consists of flexible thin strips coated with 15% Hydrogen Peroxide that are loaded in a disposable mouth tray. They conveniently conform to the shape of your teeth, removing years of tough stains from coffee, red wine and smoking.

Simply wear the strips for 30 minutes, once a day for up to10 days. If you want faster results, you can wear for an hour twice a day for 5 days. No trays, gels or mess.

Home-based teeth whitening: Tray based whitening

This teeth whitening method uses custom-made, thin plastic trays which are supplied with and are designed to hold a teeth whitening gel to whiten your teeth at home. These trays – one for your top teeth and one for your bottom teeth – are made at the initial appointment by casting a model of your teeth. The teeth whitening process involves wearing the gel-filled trays for 15 minutes, during seven to ten sessions. They can both be worn at the same time or separately.
This teeth whitening process takes longer than in-office teeth whitening at our office but can help reduce the sensitivity that some will experience with stronger whitening options.

Whitening must be suitable for your mouth. Our dentist will assess this at your first appointment.

In-Office Whitening

In just 60 minutes and very effective, this method has the power to whiten teeth by eight to ten shades and with less sensitivity than is felt with other teeth whitening treatments. The procedure requires you to visit our clinic and consists of applying a hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth, which is then re-applied every 20 minutes 2-3 times. After the main teeth whitening procedure has taken place, you have an option to upgrade a set of custom-made trays to maintain your new white smile at home for a reduced price.

Teeth whitening frequently asked questions

  • Could I just use a teeth whitening toothpaste?
For teeth whitening pastes to really work they would need to be in contact with your teeth for at least 15 minutes, which would never happen during the brushing process. Some teeth whitening toothpaste can even permanently damage your teeth as they contain acids or abrasives.
  • What about my fillings or crowns?
Because fillings or crowns stay the same color during the teeth whitening process, they may need to be replaced to match the lighter color of your teeth after completion of the treatment.
